My name is Dave Clark and you will find me in Vail, Colorado. I moved here in 1978. Initially I came for the skiing, but now find myself staying more for the hiking and biking, and beautiful scenery. I've done a lot of exploring in the Holy Cross Wilderness near my home, have climbed many of the Colorado fourteeners, and love to travel to the nearby canyons and deserts of southern Utah. If you're ever on the bike trails between Glenwood Springs, Vail, and Breckenridge you may see me as I work to keep this 50+ year old body in shape.
Photography has been my favorite hobby for as long as I can remember. I think I started in junior high school. I tend to focus on landscape and nature shots, less so on portraits. I was an early entry into digital photography — way back in the single megapixel days. You can have a look at my collection on my personal web site, Rocky Mountain Scenery. I've been at this web thing for some time now too. I suppose my site now qualifies for the term legacy, as it has been around online since 1996. Be sure to look for my Photo of the Week.
My professional background is in printing and desktop publishing, graphics design and pre-press. I had my own print and office supply business for 18 years, but the ease with which companies can now setup their own printing operations made it tough to continue. It may be time for one of those periodic career changes. If you're ever in Vail, be sure to look me up. I'm sure we can find something to do.
